Clueless customer thinks safety precautions don't apply to her

Two hours later, and I'm still amazed... I was at Home Depot and saw a worker drive a mini forklift onto the lighting

aisle to get something down for a customer. Before getting back onto the forklift, he closed off both ends of the aisle by

pulling out those metal fence barrier things. Not two minutes later, this completely clueless woman in her 40s came
  • 05
along. Without missing a beat, she casually opened the barrier like it's a garden fence and strolled through like she was on her way to a tea party. She
  • 06
walked right under the extended arms of the forklift, which by then was holding a 200 pound box.
  • 07
She stopped about 10 feet away to look at something, then kept walking and did the exact same thing at the other end of the aisle... just

pulled the barrier back and breezed on through. Of course she didn't close either barrier behind her.

I'm not one for wishing injury on people, but good Lord! No matter how many safety precautions a store puts in place, there's

bipiercedguy Stupid should hurt. Pain is usually an excellent teacher. Unfortunately, people like this get hurt, and they try to make others liable for it. Since it

wasn't their fault, they dont need to learn any lesson from it, but the store and the employee need to pay big money damages and learn how to be more responsible in the future.

Universal-Guardian Such actions are what supply injury case lawyers with work and lots of settlements. The reason nothing can be made foolproof is that new, improved fools are being developed all the time.

hoosiergirl1962 The employee on the forklift didn't yell at her to go back when she opened the first gate?

Filamcouple2014 I worked at Home Depot 1998-2000. We always had a second person (spotter) with us when using the fork lift or any other equipment up high. It seems like HD has cut back on employees, just my opinion.

Specific-River-81 If she got hurt, she'd have sued, won and the rest of us would have to pay high prices...I wish you took her pic and posted it. These people need consequences
